De’Borah
Growing up in a musical family naturally evoked the discovery of the enchanting voice and inspired creativity heard
within the songs of De'Borah. The stage became her attraction from a young age, especially due to being brought up in
the Pentecostal church - she learnt of the power of music as a tool to express oneself, motivate and inspire.

With influences from Alicia Keys to Eva Cassidy, De’Borah started singing and writing at age 11. As she hit her teens
the sound of Keane’s ‘Bedshaped’ on the radio, (literally) spun her around to a world of Indie and later, rock music.

A wide range of artists have since inspired her songs and musical style-such as Joni Mitchell, The Police, John Mayer
and Lauryn Hill.
On her 13th birthday De'Borah's bass player father presented her with her first guitar, and from then on -

‘Music has become a huge love and passion in my life, and I enjoy sharing this love with others. As an artist it’s all
about having a vulnerability, allowing me to engage and empower.'

As a former student of the BRIT School for Performing Arts - which produced acts like Katie Melua, Amy Winehouse and
Adele, De'Borah continues to grow and take her music to higher levels. In February 2009, she was awarded the title of
Croydon's Best Unsigned Music Act 2009 and she released a breathtaking collection of warm and sincere songs, heard
on the EP, Seasons.
